Bethlehem researchers documenting species of herbivorous piranha

The researchers Drs. Marcelo Andrade and Tommaso Giarrizo, linked to the postgraduate program in Aquatic Ecology and fishery for UFPA, documented a species of piranha that feeds plants and fruits. The research has been developed in the Trombetas River, in the community of Cachoeira Porteira.

The piranha of the Amazon has already been presented herbivorous in Europe during an exhibition, and reported by various communication channels, such as the report displayed on national television by the Newspaper of Record in 11/1/2013; the interview of Dr. Marcelo Andrade in the program without censorship Stop, which aired in November 2013; and the matter in the Portal G1published on 10/30/2013. Edict PNPD graduate program in biology of Freshwater and Inland fishing (PPGBADPI)

The PPGBADPI opened for post doctoral position of National Program of postdoctoral (PNPD) of CAPES. The candidate should be in line with standards laid down in article 5, Chapter III, of the Portaria 086 of 3 July 2013 the CAPES.

The new website of the graduate program in Aquatic Ecology and fishing (PPGEAP) of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) is now available. The page was developed from the standard template, using criteria of usability and portability.
